Statement of Sportsmanship

The purpose of the International Schools Sports Tournament is to provide a venue for athletes from the member schools to compete in an environment that is safe, challenging, professional and educational. Each athlete is given the opportunity to demonstrate her/his best athletic ability while maintaining a spirit of respect and co-operation with fellow athletes from various international backgrounds.

Eligibility for Competition

The ISST organization offers a number of tournaments over three sport seasons; sports are offered for boys and girls and there is a variety of activities.  THe fall sports include soccer, volleyball, field hockey (for girls) and cross country; the winter sports are basketball, swimming and rugby (for boys); finally, the spring sports include tennis, track and field, softball (for girls), baseball (for boys) and golf.  

The participation in these tournaments are under strict guidelines.  The eligibility rules for competition are specifically outlined in order to ensure a safe and proper environment for all sports.  In particular, these guidelines are:
